Exhibit your work to new audiences at The Gallery at the new Worksop Library

The Gallery at the groundbreaking new Worksop Library is accepting applications for gallery hire from exciting arts and crafts people between March and December 2011. Special rates for Bassetlaw artists apply.

Artists and crafts people now have the chance to hire a fantastic new gallery space at the groundbreaking new Worksop Library, following a showcase opening season that includes work from The Harley Gallery, The Craft Council's On View Touring Programme, The Creative Greenhouse, and leading British photographer, Sue Packer.

The arts and crafts programme at the 3000sqm library has already been attracting attention since the opening on 20 September and has been chosen as a pilot case study for the Art Council's Arts Nation campaign.

Recognising the importance of professionally managedspaces for developing and established local artists to hire at affordable rates, the custom designed Gallery is now accepting applications for hire from the end of March to the end of 2011.

Successful applicants' exhibitions will sit within a publicised programme which also aims to include touring exhibitions and commissioned work. And with a footfall of some 14,500 visits in the first two weeks of opening, the space offers the opportunity to reach a wide audience.

Applications are being accepted for full and shared hire in three or six week blocks, and full hire starts at £250 for Bassetlaw-based or non-profit artists for three weeks, and includes promotion in library publicity and opportunities to sell work.

The full hire packis available on the website at www.nottinghamshire.gov.uk/libraries, by contacting the Programmes Manager on 07941206454, or email michelle.dunstan@nottscc.gov.uk
